A Boy and His Tree

Charity Watercolor style

Saleh, a young boy in the Liwa desert region of Abu Dhabi, faces the challenge of growing date palm trees from seeds. Through his journey, he learns the importance of perseverance and charity.

Saleh lived in the beautiful Liwa desert region of Abu Dhabi. One morning, his mother gave him dates for breakfast. After eating the sweet dates, Saleh looked at the seeds and had an idea. 'I will plant these seeds and grow my own date palm trees,' he thought. But the desert is a harsh place for plants.

Saleh went outside to plant the seeds. He dug small holes in the sandy soil and carefully placed the seeds inside. 'Grow strong and tall,' he whispered to them. But the desert sun was very hot, and the soil was dry. Saleh needed to find water for his seeds.

Saleh tried to carry water from the well to his seeds. The bucket was heavy, and Saleh spilled some water on the way. 'This is harder than I thought,' he said, feeling tired. His seeds needed water every day, but it was a long walk to the well. He wondered how he could keep them alive.

Days passed, and Saleh's seeds still had not sprouted. He felt sad and thought about giving up. 'Maybe the desert is too harsh for my seeds,' he said to his mother. 'Don't give up, Saleh,' she replied. 'Great things take time and effort.'

One day, Saleh met an old farmer named Ahmed. Ahmed saw Saleh's struggle and offered advice. 'Use this clay pot to carry water. It will keep the water cool and make it easier for you,' Ahmed said. Saleh followed Ahmed's advice and found it much easier to water his seeds.

Finally, Saleh's seeds began to sprout. He watered them every day and protected them from the harsh sun. The small plants grew into tall, strong date palm trees. Years later, Saleh shared the dates from his trees with his family and neighbors. He learned that patience and charity can create something wonderful.
