A Crocodile to the Dentist
A young crocodile named Timéo must gather the courage to face his fear of the dentist.
Timéo the crocodile had a big problem. His tooth hurt, but he was afraid of going to the dentist. He imagined the dentist chair looking like a giant open mouth ready to swallow him. He clutched his little bear tightly, feeling scared. " - I don't want to go," Timéo whispered to his bear.
Timéo's mom gently nudged him toward the door of the dentist office. " - You can do this, Timéo," she encouraged. But Timéo's legs felt like jelly. He stopped at the door, unable to go in. He wished he could be anywhere else.
Inside the dentist office, Timéo saw the dentist's shiny tools. They looked like scary monsters ready to pounce. " - I don't like those," he mumbled, squeezing his bear even tighter. The room seemed to spin as he sat in the chair. He closed his eyes, hoping it would all go away.
The dentist, Dr. Blue, smiled warmly at Timéo. " - No need to be afraid, Timéo," she said softly. But Timéo wasn't convinced. Each time Dr. Blue tried to start, Timéo squirmed. Finally, he jumped out of the chair and hid behind it.
Timéo felt like giving up and running away. " - I can't do it," he cried. His heart pounded like a drum. He wanted to be brave, but his fear was too big. He sat on the floor, feeling defeated.
Suddenly, Timéo remembered a story his dad told him about a brave knight. " - Maybe I can be brave too," he thought. He stood up, gripping his bear like a trusty sword. " - I can try again," he said to himself, feeling a spark of courage.
Timéo took a deep breath and climbed back into the dentist chair. Dr. Blue was gentle and kind, explaining everything as she worked. " - You're doing great, Timéo," she encouraged. Timéo realized it wasn’t so scary after all. His courage grew with each minute.
After the check-up, Timéo felt proud and relieved. " - You were very brave today," his mom said, hugging him. Timéo grinned, holding his little bear up high. " - We did it!" he cheered, feeling like a true hero. The fear was gone, and Timéo had conquered his big problem.
