As the sun set, Punky began to lose hope. "Maybe I'm just not special enough," he mumbled sadly. He felt like giving up on his dream of being chosen. "It's okay, Punky. Tomorrow is another day," Mr. Scarecrow reassured him. Punky nodded, but he wasn't sure things would change.
The next morning, Punky woke up to a beautiful, sunny day. He felt a tiny flutter of hope in his little stem. "Could today be my day?" he wondered. Then, a quiet girl named Lily wandered near Punky, her eyes searching for something special. Lily knelt down and looked at him with curious eyes. "You’re perfect!" she exclaimed.
Punky could hardly believe it! "Me? Really?" he thought joyfully. Lily gently lifted Punky from the vine with a big smile. "I've been waiting for you," she said softly. Punky's heart swelled with happiness. He had been chosen at last!
