That night, Ber held the teddy bear tight. But the shadows still looked scary. " - Maybe I need more than a teddy bear," Ber thought. He stayed awake, listening for the Boi. His heart raced with every sound.
Ber decided to make a plan. He drew a map of his room. " - I'll know where to hide," he said to himself. But the dark corners still seemed alive. The plan wasn't working. Ber felt stuck.
The next night, Ber tried to sleep with a flashlight. " - This will scare the Boi away," he thought. But the batteries ran out quickly. Ber felt defeated. " - I can't do this," he sighed.
Ber's mom noticed he was tired. " - Why don't you sleep, Ber?" she asked gently. " - I'm scared of the Boi da Cara Preta," he admitted. His mom hugged him tightly. " - We'll find a way," she promised.
Ber decided he couldn't do it. " - I give up," he told his teddy bear. The dark was too big and scary. Tears filled his eyes. He was out of ideas. Ber felt small and helpless.
Then, Ber's grandpa visited. " - You remind me of me at your age," grandpa said. He told Ber a story about facing fears. " - Courage is feeling scared but doing it anyway," grandpa explained. Ber felt a spark of hope.
