Maria decided to find the dragon, but first, she needed to cross the enchanted forest. The forest was very dark and full of strange noises. Maria felt a little scared, but she kept going. - I can do it, she whispered to herself. Suddenly, she tripped over a root and fell.

Maria stood up and dusted herself off. Next, she had to climb a steep hill to see where the dragon might be. Halfway up, she slipped and slid back down. - This is harder than I thought, Maria sighed. She tried again, determined to reach the top. But each time she climbed, she fell back down.

Feeling tired and sad, Maria sat at the bottom of the hill. - Maybe I can't do this, she said softly. She thought about giving up and going home. But she remembered how scared everyone was. - I have to be brave, she told herself. Maria took a deep breath and stood up.

Just then, a wise old owl flew down and perched on a branch nearby. - You are smarter than you think, little princess, the owl said. Maria listened carefully. - Use your intelligence to find a new way up, the owl advised. Maria realized she could use the vines to help her climb.

With the help of the vines, Maria finally climbed the hill and spotted the dragon resting. She approached slowly and bravely spoke to it. - Please, Mr. Dragon, don’t scare my village, she said. The dragon listened and promised not to frighten anyone again. Everyone cheered for Maria's bravery and cleverness.
