The bird hesitated, then flew away, but the ant was still far from home. Abby felt her heart sink. She needed a new plan.
As the sun began to set, Abby sat down, feeling defeated. - It's too hard, I can't do it, she whispered, feeling tears in her eyes. She watched the ant, who seemed to cheer her up with its determination to keep moving. - Maybe we can do it together, Abby thought. She realized she couldn't give up now. Abby remembered her toy blocks in the playroom. She could use them to build a path for the ant. - That's it! I'll make a path! Abby exclaimed. She ran inside and returned with a handful of blocks. Carefully, she laid them down in front of the ant. - Come on, little ant, Abby encouraged, pointing the way. The ant started moving along the path.
