Amalia whispered, worried that the noise might get scarier.
Amalia reached the bottom of the stairs, but the noise had stopped. She looked around, hoping for a clue. Suddenly, the wind blew through an open window, and the curtain flapped like a ghost. Amalia jumped back, her heart racing. " - It's just the wind," she told herself bravely, trying to calm down.
