Annie was excited to visit her Grampy and Nanny Walton for the first time. They lived in a place called Lower Five Islands with big trees and no other houses. Annie sang songs in the car with Mommy and Daddy until she fell asleep. When she woke up, they were in the yard at her grandparents' house. Annie felt a little scared because everything was so new.
Grampy and Nanny came out of the house with big smiles. A large dog named George wagged his tail excitedly behind Grampy. Annie felt nervous about the big dog. - Don't worry, Annie, George is very friendly, said Grampy. Annie tried to smile but stayed close to Mommy.
Annie and Nanny went to the vegetable garden to pick cucumbers. Annie saw a shiny rock and put it in her pocket. - What a lovely cucumber, Nanny! Annie tried to change the subject. But she felt a little guilty about the rock.
Later, Grampy took Annie for a ride on the orange tractor. - Look, Grampy, I'm driving! Annie giggled. But she couldn't stop thinking about the rock in her pocket. She considered telling Grampy but was too scared.
At the beach, Annie collected rocks with Mommy and Daddy. - Daddy, did you ever take rocks from Nanny's garden? - No, Annie, it's important to always ask first. Annie's heart sank. She knew she had to be honest.
