Annir's mom brought out a beautiful cake. But when Annir counted the candles, there were only three. He felt a pang of worry.
- Mom, why are there only three candles? I'm turning four today!
- Don't worry, Annir. We'll find the missing candle, his dad said. Annir nodded, but he still felt sad.
They searched the whole house but couldn't find the missing candle. Annir felt tears welling up in his eyes.
- Maybe I'll never turn four, Annir whispered. His mom hugged him tightly.
Annir's dad looked under the bed and behind the couch. No candle. Annir's heart sank.
- Let's check the kitchen again, his dad suggested. But still, no candle.
Annir felt like giving up. He sat on the floor, feeling very small and sad.
- Maybe I should just have my birthday with three candles, Annir sighed.
Suddenly, Annir had a brilliant idea. His eyes sparkled with excitement.
- Mom, Dad! We can cut the candles in half to make a new one! Annir exclaimed.
They carefully cut the candles in half and made a fourth candle. Annir's heart filled with joy.
They lit the candles and sang Happy Birthday. Annir blew out the candles and smiled.
