Aubrey and Baba's Day Off

Honesty Pixar style

Aubrey and her dad, Baba, plan a special day off filled with fun activities, but Aubrey learns that honesty is the key to happiness when faced with a big problem.

Aubrey woke up with a big smile. Today was special because she and her dad, Baba, planned a day off full of fun! But Aubrey had a tiny secret. She had promised her best friend she would help with a school project that day. " - What if I miss out on something important?" Aubrey wondered. She didn't want to disappoint her friend, but the excitement of the day was too much to resist.

On their way to Legoland, Aubrey started to feel a bit worried. " - Baba, do you think my friend will be mad?" she asked. Baba assured her everything would be fine, but Aubrey wasn't convinced. As they arrived, the bright colors of the park distracted her for a moment. But the thought of her broken promise lingered in her heart.

Aubrey tried to forget her worries while building a tall LEGO tower. But when the tower fell, she felt a pang of guilt again. " - Are you okay, sweetie?" Baba asked, noticing her frown. Aubrey nodded, but inside, her heart was heavy. She knew she should be honest, but what if the truth made her day less fun?

As they moved to Discovery Park, Aubrey felt like giving up. " - I don't know what to do, Baba," she sighed. Her fun day was turning sour with every passing thought of her friend. Baba noticed her struggle and paused. " - Sometimes, telling the truth is the best way to feel better," he suggested gently. Aubrey listened, but the fear of disappointing her friend was still there.

At lunchtime, Baba shared a story from his childhood about honesty. " - I once missed a friend's birthday because I didn't tell the truth," Baba confessed. Aubrey listened as Baba explained how he made it right. " - Maybe I should call my friend," Aubrey said, feeling hopeful. Baba smiled, knowing she found the strength to be honest.

Aubrey called her friend and told the truth. " - I'm really sorry for not helping today," she said. Her friend was a little sad, but understood. " - It's okay, maybe we can do it together next time," her friend replied. Aubrey felt a weight lift from her shoulders. The rest of the day was even more fun, and she knew honesty made it all possible.
