Becoming Brave
Follow Abi, a joyful three-year-old, as she learns to face her fears and become brave in the suburbs of Naperville, Illinois. With the support of her loving dad and friends, she navigates through challenges and discovers the courage within herself.
Abi loved playing in her cozy neighborhood, but she was scared to go on adventures without her dad. One sunny morning, her dad suggested exploring the park. Abi felt nervous. " - Can we stay here, Dad?" Abi asked. Her dad smiled, " - You'll see, there's fun waiting for you." Abi wanted to be brave.
At the park, Abi saw a big, twisty slide. It looked fun, but also very high. " - I can't do it," Abi whispered. Her dad held her hand gently. " - Just try, I'm here with you," he encouraged. Abi took a deep breath but shook her head.
Next, Abi's friends invited her to play tag. Running after friends was exciting, but she worried about falling. " - Come on, it's fun!" her friend Mia called. Abi hesitated, remembering how she stumbled last time. " - What if I fall again?" Abi asked, feeling unsure.
Abi watched her friends climb a tree. She imagined how high up they were. " - Come up, Abi!" shouted her friend Leo. Abi shook her head, feeling her heart race. Climbing seemed too hard and scary. " - It's okay, I'll watch from here," she replied softly.
Abi sat on a bench, feeling sad. " - I just can't do it," she mumbled to her dad. Her dad sat beside her. " - It's okay to be scared, but you're stronger than you think," he said. His words made her think. Abi wanted to try again, but how?
Abi's dad shared a story about when he was small. " - I was scared too, but I learned to take little steps," he said. Abi listened carefully. " - Little steps?" she wondered. Her dad nodded, " - Yes, one small step at a time." Abi felt a warm spark of hope.
Abi decided to try again, starting with the slide. " - Just one step," she reminded herself. She climbed slowly, holding tight. " - I did it!" she giggled as she slid down. Her friends cheered. Abi felt proud and much braver.
With newfound courage, Abi joined the tag game and even climbed the tree a little. " - I'm doing it!" she laughed. Her dad watched proudly from afar. Abi realized that being brave was trying even when scared. " - I'm brave now," she said happily.
