Lucy and Buddy, her fluffy dog, loved playing in the garden. One sunny day, Lucy heard a tiny meow coming from the bushes. " - Oh no, there's a kitten stuck in the tree!" Lucy exclaimed. Lucy and Buddy approached the tree carefully. " - It's so high," Lucy whispered, staring up in fear. Buddy barked, encouraging her to try. " - I can’t reach it," Lucy said, stretching her arms. The branches seemed too thin to hold her weight. She felt like she was stuck.
Lucy tried reaching the kitten with a long stick, but it was too short. " - It’s no use, Buddy," she said, feeling hopeless. She climbed onto a lower branch but froze, afraid to move higher. " - Maybe we should call for help?" Lucy thought, her voice shaky. The kitten meowed loudly, making her heart race. She didn't want to give up.
Lucy sat on the grass, tears in her eyes. " - I can't do it," she sighed, petting Buddy sadly. Buddy licked her face, trying to cheer her up. " - What if we just leave it?" she wondered aloud, feeling defeated. But she knew the kitten needed them. Lucy sighed deeply, feeling the weight of the problem.
Just then, Lucy's neighbor, Mr. Johnson, walked by. " - Need a hand, Lucy?" he asked warmly. He showed her how to make a safe ladder with some sturdy branches. " - We can do this!" Lucy said, feeling a burst of courage. With Mr. Johnson's help, they built a ladder together. Lucy felt her fears slipping away.
With the ladder ready, Lucy took a deep breath and climbed up. " - Be careful, Lucy!" Buddy barked from below. She reached the kitten, gently cradling it in her arms. " - We did it, Buddy!" Lucy cheered, climbing down safely. They all celebrated, and Lucy knew she had found her courage.

One day, during one of his explorations, Karim stumbled upon something unusual. In the middle of the sand lay a small, clumsy animal with a flat tail and a duck-like bill. Karim stared and rubbed his eyes. “A platypus? Here? In the Sahara?” The animal looked at him curiously and sniffed the air as if it was just as surprised to see Karim. Karim knelt down and carefully extended his hand. “Well, you little adventurer,” he said gently. The platypus, which he immediately named “Schnabbi,” waddled toward him and chirped happily. Thus began a wonderful friendship. The days passed, and Karim and Schnabbi experienced one adventure after another together. Karim regularly took Schnabbi to the only small waterhole nearby, where the platypus could splash around in the water. Together, they discovered hidden caves and oases that only a few people knew about. Schnabbi had a special ability to sniff out water and always found the cool spots where the plants were green and the air fresh. One morning, Karim noticed that the waterhole was nearly dried up. “Schnabbi, what are we going to do?” he asked, concerned. Schnabbi seemed to sense the danger and sat sadly in the sand. But then Karim's eyes lit up. “I have an idea! We’ll find the hidden spring the elders always talk about.” And so, Karim and Schnabbi set off on a long journey through the Sahara. Under the scorching sun and through the swirling sand, they marched bravely on. Schnabbi ran close beside Karim, sniffing the ground as though searching for the right path. They walked for days, and their water supplies grew low. But just before Karim was about to give up, Schnabbi began to chirp excitedly and dig. “Did you find something, Schnabbi?” Karim knelt down and started digging. Soon he felt damp sand beneath his fingers. Water! A small stream was seeping from the ground. Karim and Schnabbi jumped up and down with joy and drank eagerly from the cool spring. Karim quickly filled his bottles and marked the spot so he could show the villagers the way. Back in the village, Karim and Schnabbi were welcomed as heroes. Thanks to their discovery, the village would have enough water during the dry summer months. The villagers even built a small basin for Schnabbi, where he could splash around to his heart's content. Karim and Schnabbi remained best friends and continued to explore the wonders of the desert. They made an unlikely team, but their friendship showed that adventure and courage sometimes begin in the most unexpected places—even with a platypus in the middle of the Sahara.
