Build a Robot

Honesty Watercolor style

Yonah, a young boy who loves to build robots, faces a moral dilemma when his robot creation doesn't turn out as expected. He learns the importance of honesty through a series of challenges.

Yonah loved building robots. One day, he decided to build the best robot ever. But when he connected the last wire, the robot didn't work. Yonah felt very sad. He wanted to show his friends a working robot. " - What will I do?" he wondered.

Yonah tried to fix the robot, but the screwdriver wouldn't fit. " - Maybe it's the wrong tool," he sighed. He searched through his toolbox, but couldn't find the right one. His little sister came in and asked, " - Can I help?" Yonah shook his head, feeling frustrated.

Yonah decided to try again the next day. This time, the robot's arm wouldn't move. " - Why won't you work?" Yonah asked the robot. He read the instructions again, but they seemed too hard to understand. His friend Ben visited and said, " - Maybe it's broken forever." Yonah felt his heart sink.

Feeling hopeless, Yonah thought about giving up. He hid the robot under his bed. " - Maybe robots aren't for me," he mumbled. His mom noticed he was sad and asked, " - What happened to your robot, Yonah?" Yonah didn't know what to say.

His mom sat with him and said, " - Honesty is important, even with yourself." Yonah realized he needed to try again honestly. He decided to ask his dad for help. Together, they read the instructions carefully. " - I get it now!" Yonah exclaimed with a smile.

With his dad's help, Yonah fixed the robot. The robot's eyes lit up and it waved its arm. " - It's alive!" Yonah cheered. He thanked his dad and learned that being honest with himself led to success. Now, Yonah and his robot played happily in the backyard.
