Courage of a Child

João was a brave boy who loved to explore. But he had one fear: the dark. Every night, when the sun set, he felt the darkness creeping in. He wanted to be brave and face it. One day, he decided to find a way to make the dark less scary. This was his big problem to solve.

João decided to explore the backyard at night. As he stepped outside, the shadows seemed to grow. His heart raced, but he took a deep breath. " - I can do this," João whispered to himself. He saw a bush rustling and froze. It was his first obstacle: the unknown sounds of the night.

The next night, João tried again. This time, the wind howled and the trees looked like monsters. " - What if they catch me?" João thought, feeling his hands shake. He remembered his father's words, " - Be brave, my son." But the fear felt bigger. The night seemed endless, and João felt small.

That evening, João's grandfather visited. " - Have you ever seen the stars, João?" he asked with a twinkle in his eye. João shook his head. " - Come, let's find them together," his grandfather said. They went outside, and João looked up. The sky was bright with stars, like tiny lights in the dark. " - They're beautiful!" João exclaimed, feeling a spark of courage.

From that night on, João wasn't afraid anymore. He knew the dark held wonders, like the stars. " - I can be brave," he said, smiling at the night sky. He learned that courage was inside him all along. His family was proud, and João felt proud too. The dark was no longer scary but full of possibilities.
