Cute Animals in the Zoo
Ellie, a curious 5-year-old, visits the zoo in Gold Coast, Australia. She discovers the animals need help with their homes and decides to raise money to fix them. But it won't be easy! Will Ellie find a way to help her new animal friends?
Ellie loved visiting the Gold Coast Zoo. One sunny day, she noticed the animal homes were broken and messy. The zookeeper, Mr. Brown, told her they needed money to fix them. Ellie wanted to help, but she didn’t know how. She felt sad for the animals living in broken homes.
Ellie decided to set up a lemonade stand to raise money. She squeezed lemons and made a sign that read, 'Help the Zoo Animals!' But no one stopped to buy her lemonade. She felt discouraged and wondered if she could really help the animals.
Ellie thought and thought. She decided to make colorful bracelets and sell them. Her friend, Mia, helped her. But the bracelets didn’t sell either. Ellie felt like giving up. The animals still needed her help.
Ellie sat on a bench and sighed. She felt like she couldn’t do anything right. Her mom sat next to her and held her hand. Ellie felt like crying.
- Maybe we need more people to know about the animals, Ellie’s mom said. - How can we do that? Ellie asked. - We can make a big poster and tell everyone at the park! her mom suggested. Ellie’s eyes lit up with hope.
