Daisy is a happy 4-year-old with a big imagination. But she doesn’t like the dark, afraid of what monsters may be lurking in the shadows.
Daisy’s mom comes into the room to say goodnight and turn the lights off. Daisy begs her not to. - Mommy, keep the night light on! Daisy says.
Coco runs into the room and jumps onto the bed, cuddling up to Daisy. - Honey, the dark isn’t something to be scared of. See? Even Coco isn’t scared, and you’re just as brave as Coco, says Mom.
Mom leaves the room after turning the nightlight on but the main light off.
Daisy glances over at the closet. She imagines a monster in the shadows of the closet. - Oh no, a monster! Daisy gasps, hugging Coco who provides her comfort.
Coco’s ears perk up, he jumps off the bed and walks into the dark closet. - Coco wait! Daisy calls, but Coco disappears into the darkness of the closet.
Coco comes back out with his favorite toy, tail wagging, and brings it to Daisy. How was Coco so brave?!
Daisy reaches out, feeling Coco’s soft fur. - You’re not scared, Coco? she whispers. Coco is already fast asleep.
Daisy takes a breath and closes her eyes. - Maybe the dark isn’t so bad after all...
The next night Daisy asks her mom to turn off her nightlight but keep the door open. - Mommy, you can turn my nightlight off... but can you keep my door open? - Of course, my brave girl! says Mom.
Coco runs into Daisy’s room and jumps on her bed. Daisy is holding Coco tight and peering into the closet.
She watches the shadows and realizes nothing happens. - Still no monsters... I think we’re okay!
Daisy and Coco snuggle up and fall asleep.
Daisy wakes up in the morning and realizes she conquered her fear. - We did it Coco, we conquered my fear! Daisy grins. Coco kisses her cheek.
Daisy runs to her mom and tells her she's ready for more adventures. - Mommy, I’m ready for more adventures! - I knew you would be, her mom replied, hugging her.
