Sandy was a little jerboa who lived in a big, hot desert. One day, Sandy heard a story about a magical oasis. The oasis could make anyone who found it very brave. Sandy wanted to find the oasis and be the bravest jerboa ever! But finding the oasis was not easy. Sandy had to cross the wide desert to find it.
Sandy started the journey across the desert. But soon, a big sand dune blocked the way. Sandy tried to climb it, but the sand was slippery. - This is harder than I thought, Sandy said. Sandy slid down and landed at the bottom, feeling a bit sad. It seemed impossible to get over the dune.
Sandy decided to try again and kept hopping. But now, a strong wind blew sand everywhere. Sandy had to close the eyes and wait. - I can't see anything! Sandy cried. The wind was scary, and Sandy felt lost. It was tough to keep going when the wind wouldn't stop.
With the wind and the dunes, Sandy felt very tired. Sandy thought about going home. - Maybe I can't do this, Sandy sighed. Sandy sat down on a rock and felt small and alone. It seemed like the oasis was too far away to reach.
Just then, a wise old tortoise walked by. - Don't give up, Sandy, the tortoise said. - You are braver than you think. Sandy listened to the tortoise's words and felt a spark of hope. Maybe Sandy could find the oasis and be brave after all!
With new courage, Sandy jumped up. Sandy hopped over the dunes and through the wind. Soon, Sandy saw the oasis shining like a jewel. - I did it! Sandy cheered. Sandy felt a big rush of bravery and knew the journey was worth it.
