In the vast African savanna, young Karim meets an unexpected friend, a platypus named Pippa, who is far from home. - We have to keep going, Karim said encouragingly. But as they walked, they encountered a river full of crocodiles. Karim's heart pounded as they searched for a safe way across. Pippa shivered at the sight of the crocs. They needed to find a solution quickly, or they would have to turn back.
They finally found a narrow fallen tree that looked like a bridge. Karim tried to steady himself as he led Pippa across the tree. Halfway across, the tree wobbled, and they almost fell into the water. Karim's heart skipped a beat, but they made it to the other side safely.
After crossing the river, they finally reached the wise old elephant. - Can you help us? Karim asked, explaining Pippa's situation. - You must travel to the great mountain, the elephant advised, you will find answers there. Karim felt hopeful but knew the mountain was far away.
