Next, Elfanzo tried his Turbo Tinker Tail. - Come on, you've got to work! he urged. But the tool spun out of control and tangled itself in the machine's gears. Elfanzo felt tears prick his eyes. He was running out of ideas.
As a last resort, Elfanzo used his Whirly Fixer. With fingers crossed, he pressed the button. The gadget made a whirring sound but did nothing else. - I'm never going to fix this, Elfanzo thought sadly. He felt like giving up.
Elfanzo sat on the floor, surrounded by his failed gadgets. - Maybe I'm just not cut out for this, he whispered. The workshop seemed quieter, and he felt very alone. The weight of Christmas felt too heavy on his small shoulders.
Just then, an older elf named Orlyn approached. - Don't give up, Elfanzo, he said. - Remember, wisdom isn't about knowing everything; it's about learning. Elfanzo listened, feeling a spark of hope. Maybe he could still find a way.
