Emily and Mouse walked through the deep, dark wood. Emily was excited to find the Gruffalo that Mouse talked about. " - Is there really a Gruffalo?" Emily asked. " - Yes," said Mouse, "he's big and scary." Emily giggled, " - I want to meet him!" But deep down, Emily wondered if she'd be brave enough.
As they ventured deeper, a sly fox appeared. " - Who's this?" the Fox asked, eyeing Emily and Mouse. " - We're looking for the Gruffalo," Mouse said proudly. Fox laughed, " - He's not real!" Emily frowned, " - We will find him!" But doubt started to creep in.
Next, an owl swooped down from the trees. " - Come rest," said Owl, " - It's getting dark." Mouse shook his head, " - We have to find the Gruffalo." " - A Gruffalo?" Owl hooted, surprised. The sky darkened, making Emily feel a bit scared. " - Maybe we should go back," Emily thought.
Emily sat on a log, feeling unsure. " - Maybe the Gruffalo isn't real," she sighed. Mouse patted her hand, " - Don't give up." Emily looked around at the dark woods. " - What if we can't find him?" she worried. " - We can try one more time," Mouse encouraged.
Suddenly, a loud roar shook the ground. " - What's that?" Emily gasped. Out stepped the Gruffalo, big and real! " - You found me!" Gruffalo rumbled, confused by Emily's bravery. She stood tall, " - We're not scared of you!" Gruffalo blinked, surprised and curious.
Emily smiled and took Gruffalo's paw. " - Let's be friends," she said kindly. Gruffalo grinned, " - I'd like that." They played together until the sky turned blue. No one was scared of the Gruffalo anymore. Emily had shown everyone that friendship conquers fear.
