In a cozy room in Dubai, baby Laith snuggled in his blue crib, with his lion hand blanket ready to say goodnight to his family spread across the world. But tonight, Laith felt something was not right. He loves each of them dearly and wanted to send them a special goodnight.
Laith looked at the stars outside his bedroom in Dubai , thinking about his great-grandmother in Palestine and his grandparents in Saudi Arabia. How could he possibly reach them all before bedtime?
- I wish I could see them all, Laith thought. But how can I say goodnight when everyone is far away?
Laith tried to send a smile through the wind to his 2 great-grandmothers in Toronto But the wind seemed to carry it away in another direction.
He then tried to send a hug to his grandparents in Dubai but his lion fell, and he felt his hug was not strong enough.
Laith whispered a goodnight to his aunt, uncle, and cousin down the street but his voice seemed too quiet to travel the distance. Laith’s daddy and mommy were in the next room and he was sad thinking they too didn’t hear his whispers.
Thinking of his Uncle and Aunt in Geneva, Laith began to feel tired and a bit helpless. - Maybe my goodnights won't reach them, he thought with a sigh.
Just as Laith was about to give up, he remembered a story his mommy told him about magical dreams that could travel anywhere.
- I know! Laith said, his eyes lighting up. - I'll send my goodnights through dreams! They can fly over the world, reaching everyone I love.
With a big smile, Laith snuggled into his crib and sent his goodnight dreams to each family member, feeling their love return to him.
