'Not yet,' Tommy's mom replied, 'But finding the tickets was like finding a needle in a haystack. Grandpa kept making us laugh, but we were still stuck.' 'That sounds hard,' Tommy said. 'It was,' his mom agreed, 'Then Grandpa accidentally dropped his glasses.' 'Did you find the tickets then?' Tommy asked eagerly.
'No, we didn't,' his mom sighed. 'We thought we might have to give up and go back home.' 'That must have been sad,' Tommy said, frowning. 'It was,' nodded his mom, 'But then something amazing happened.' 'What, Mom?' Tommy asked, leaning forward.
'Grandpa remembered a wise old saying,' his mom explained, 'Sometimes, laughter is the key.' 'What does that mean?' Tommy asked. 'Grandpa started to laugh again, and then he suddenly remembered he had put the tickets in his hat!' 'Did you catch the flight?' Tommy asked. 'Yes, we did!' his mom smiled.
'Wow, Grandpa is really smart!' Tommy exclaimed. 'He is,' his mom agreed, 'He taught me that wisdom and humor go hand in hand.' 'I want to be like Grandpa Gerard!' Tommy declared. 'You will be, Tommy. Just remember to always find joy and wisdom in every situation,' his mom said. 'I will, Mom,' Tommy promised.
