We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives. Georgie loved asking questions and learning new things. She was a very curious little girl. One morning while thinking about a bible verse she had heard in Sunday School- Be very careful then how you live, not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity. (Ephesians 5:15-16) She wondered, "Where do you get wisdom?" The one who gets wisdom loves life; the one who cherishes understanding will soon prosper. (Proverbs 19:8) She felt having wisdom would make everything better, from school to playing with friends. But how does one find wisdom? This mystery was her new quest.
Georgie decided to ask her wise Grandma first. - Grandma, where do you get wisdom? Georgie asked eagerly. Grandma smiled and said, - Wisdom begins with wonder, my dear. Knowledge is understanding who God is, but wisdom is putting our fear and trust in God. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. (James 1:5) This verse encourages people to ask God for wisdom when faced with difficult situations. Georgie felt inspired but still wanted more answers.
Next, Georgie wandered into the forest, hoping to find the wise old owl. - How can I find wisdom, Mr. Owl? she asked. The owl blinked slowly and replied, - Knowledge speaks, but wisdom listens. Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise. (Proverbs 19:20) Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance. He gave her a candy with a note inside that read, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." (Matthew 7:7) Georgie's excitement returned. She decided to seek wisdom everywhere she went. For everyone who asks receives, the one who seeks finds, and the one who knocks the door will be opened. (Matthew 7:8)
