Elijah's Honest Adventure

Elijah was playing in the village park with his best friend, Max the dog. But suddenly, Max ran off, chasing a squirrel! Elijah looked everywhere but couldn't find him. Elijah's heart sank. He wondered how to tell his parents that Max was lost. He knew he had to be honest, but he was worried.
Elijah started his search by asking people in the park if they had seen Max. " - Have you seen my dog?" Elijah asked a kind lady. " - No, dear," she replied, "but I'll keep an eye out." Elijah felt a little sadder as he realized finding Max wouldn't be easy.
Elijah decided to check Max's favorite hiding spot near the pond. " - Max! Are you here?" he called out. But there was no answer, just the sound of ducks quacking. Elijah felt tears in his eyes. " - Maybe he’s gone forever," he thought. Elijah sat down, feeling very small.
Elijah sat on a bench, thinking about giving up. He missed Max so much. " - I can’t find him," he whispered to himself. Just then, an older man with a gentle smile sat beside him. " - Sometimes, we need to ask for help," the man said kindly. Elijah nodded, wiping his tears.
Elijah realized he needed to tell his parents the truth. " - I should tell them," he decided. He ran home and told his parents everything. " - We can all look together," his mom suggested. Elijah felt relieved and hopeful. They all set out to find Max, calling his name.
Together, they searched the park and nearby streets. Just as the sun was setting, they heard a bark. " - Max!" Elijah shouted with joy. Max came running back, wagging his tail happily. Elijah hugged him tight and promised, " - I'll always be honest, Max."
