They finally escaped the lion, only to find themselves at the edge of a rushing river. - How will we get across? Sam wondered aloud. - Maybe we can build a raft! his dad suggested. They gathered sticks and vines, but their raft kept falling apart. Sam felt frustrated and worried they'd never cross.
After many attempts, the raft floated, and they crossed the river safely. On the other side, they found a vast desert stretching to the horizon. - It's so hot and endless, Sam said, wiping his brow. With no water in sight, they felt tired and unsure of where to go next.
- Maybe we can find an oasis! his dad suggested hopefully. They walked and walked, but the desert seemed to go on forever. Sam felt too hot and thirsty, wanting to give up. - Let's keep trying, his dad encouraged, though he too was weary. They trudged on, hoping for a miracle.
