When Jack tried to draw, the bullies knocked his crayons. - Go away, they said. Jack felt like crying. He looked at his bear for comfort. But the mean kids kept laughing. Jack wanted to hide.
Jack felt like giving up. He hugged his bear and whispered, - I can't do this. I'll never have fun. But his bear seemed to whisper back. Jack felt a little braver. Could he try again?
A kind teacher saw Jack and smiled. - You can be brave, she said. - Your bear can help! Jack took a deep breath. With his bear in hand, he walked back to the blocks. He felt stronger.
Jack found a new friend who wanted to play. - Let's build together, the friend said. The bullies backed away. Jack smiled and felt happy. He learned he could be brave, just like his bear.
