In a warm, sunny village in the Philippines, there was a boy named Jake. He was playing in the basement when he found an old, dusty mirror. To his amazement, the mirror seemed magical! It could show not just his face but the truth about his actions. Jake noticed his reflection looked funny when he told fibs. " - Why do you look funny, mirror?" Jake asked.
Jake was curious and wanted to test the mirror. " - I'll pretend I didn't eat the cookies," he decided. But as soon as he fibbed, his reflection showed floppy ears and a long nose! " - Oh no, I look silly!" Jake exclaimed. He realized the mirror was showing what happens when he isn't truthful. But, he wanted to keep the secret of the mirror.
The next day, Jake's friend asked, " - Did you finish your chores?" Wanting to play instead, Jake said yes even though he hadn't. His reflection turned into a clown, complete with a red nose! " - Why is this happening?" Jake wondered. But he ignored it and went to play, hoping nobody else could see his funny reflection.
Jake was tired of looking silly in the mirror. " - Maybe I should just stop looking at it," he thought. He missed seeing his true self and felt sad. " - I don't want to look like a clown," he sighed. As he sat by the mirror, he wished he could go back to being honest. But he felt like he couldn't solve the problem.
Just then, an old woman appeared, the village storyteller. " - The mirror shows the truth, Jake," she said gently. " - Being honest will fix your reflection." Jake listened carefully and realized what he had to do. " - I must be truthful," he decided. With the storyteller's wisdom, he felt hopeful again.
Jake went to his friend and said, " - I didn't finish my chores yesterday." His reflection in the mirror slowly returned to normal.
