Jane's Special Day

When Jane got out of bed that day, she didn’t know it would be a BIG DAY.
She and her little sister Nora had breakfast, just like every day. Her Mommy said, “Jane, today is a special day”. Jane clapped her hands because she LOVED special days and said “Is it a special day now?” Something fun ALWAYS happened. “Not yet”, said Mommy.
After breakfast, Jane and Nora played with their toys. After a while, Daddy said, “time to put them away”. Then Mommy said, “it’s a nice day, let’s go out for a walk”. Jane asked “Is it a special day now?” “Not yet”, said Mommy.
After searching the picnic area, they sat down, tired and sad. - Maybe we'll never find it, Sam sighed. Jane felt like giving up too. But she remembered how important the teddy was to Sam. - We can't give up, Jane said, holding Sam's hand.
Just then, Jane's grandma arrived for her picnic. - What's wrong? Grandma asked. Jane explained about the lost teddy. Grandma smiled and said, - Sometimes, treasures hide in plain sight. Jane had an idea and quickly looked in the big oak tree nearby.
To their surprise, the teddy bear was stuck on a branch! Sam jumped with joy. - You found it! he laughed. Jane felt proud and happy. Her special day was complete when she saw Sam's smile. She learned that helping others makes any day special.
