Koby Gets Lost
Koby, a curious little boy, gets lost while playing in his backyard. He meets a new friend and a floppy-eared rabbit, but soon faces challenges that test his wisdom and bravery.
Koby is playing in his backyard in Louisville, Kentucky. He sees a little girl holding a brown rabbit on the other side of the fence. Koby is curious and crawls through a hole in the fence to meet them. His pacifier dangles around his neck. Koby's adventure begins.
Koby reaches the other side and meets the little girl and her rabbit. The rabbit's ears are big and floppy, and it smiles because the girl is chewing on its ear. Koby giggles and decides to chew on the other ear. Suddenly, Koby realizes he doesn't know his way back.
Koby looks around and sees tall grass and trees. He can't see the hole in the fence anymore. Koby starts to feel scared. The little girl tries to help, but she doesn't know where the hole is either.
- I want to go home, Koby says. The little girl looks sad because she can't help him. Koby starts to cry. He feels like giving up. The rabbit nudges Koby with its nose, trying to cheer him up.
Just then, Koby hears his mom calling his name. - Koby, where are you? she calls. Koby's eyes light up. He follows the sound of his mom's voice. The little girl and the rabbit follow him.
Koby finds the hole in the fence with his mom's help. - There you are! his mom says, hugging him. Koby is happy to be back home. He waves goodbye to the little girl and the rabbit. Koby learns to be more careful and wise.
