Nael was determined to find the star. - I will help too! he said. But as he tried to crawl, he bumped into a big box. The box toppled over, spilling ornaments everywhere.
Nael's parents sighed as they began picking up the ornaments. - It's okay, Nael, his mom said gently. But Nael felt sad. He wanted to help.
Nael tried again, crawling toward the sofa. He thought the star might be hiding there. But he couldn't reach it.
- Maybe we should try later, said his dad. Nael shook his head. He was not ready to give up. He crawled toward the closet instead.
Nael reached the closet and tugged at the door. A pile of winter clothes tumbled out. No star in sight.
Nael sat on the floor, feeling defeated. It seemed impossible to find the star. - What if we never find it? he wondered aloud.
Nael's mom knelt beside him. - Let's think, she said. Suddenly, Nael remembered seeing something shiny under the table. Could it be the star?
