Layla climbed into bed, but as soon as she lay down, she felt scared. She missed the comforting feeling of her pacifier. - Maybe I can't do this, Layla whispered to herself. She hugged her teddy bear tightly, hoping it would help.
Layla tossed and turned. She tried counting sheep but still couldn't fall asleep. Suddenly, she saw a tiny spider on her windowsill. - Why are you awake, Layla? the spider asked. - I can't sleep without my pacifier, Layla admitted.
- Maybe I should just use it, Layla sighed. - But you said you wanted to sleep without it, the spider reminded her. - I did, Layla replied, feeling torn. She felt like giving up.
- Sometimes, being brave means feeling scared but trying anyway, the spider said. Layla thought about it and took a deep breath. - You're right, Layla said with newfound determination. - I'll try again.
Layla closed her eyes and imagined herself as a brave princess. Slowly, she drifted off to sleep without her pacifier. The next morning, Layla woke up feeling proud and happy. - I did it! she exclaimed. The spider smiled, - See, you were brave all along.
