Marc woke up bright and early, excited to make a magical breakfast for his mom. But he soon realized he had never cooked before. His heart sank, thinking, "How will I do this all by myself?" Just then, his cat, Whiskers, meowed loudly, jumping onto the counter. Marc looked at Whiskers and said, " - I wish you could help me, Whiskers."
Suddenly, Whiskers magically grew to Marc's size and spoke! " - I can help you, Marc!" said Whiskers with a purr. Marc was shocked but excited. " - Really? That's amazing!" he exclaimed. "Let's start with the croissants," Whiskers suggested. But when they tried, they spilled flour everywhere.
They moved on to making bacon, but the pan got too hot and the bacon burned. " - Oh no, it smells terrible! What do we do?" asked Marc, worried. " - Let's try again," Whiskers encouraged him. Next, they attempted the eggs, but broke half of them on the floor. Marc felt defeated, but Whiskers smiled, " - Don't give up!"
Marc sat on the floor, feeling like he'd never get it right. " - Maybe I should quit," Marc sighed, feeling tears in his eyes. " - But you wanted to surprise your mom," Whiskers reminded him gently. Marc thought about his mom's smile and felt a spark of hope. " - You're right, I can't give up," he said, standing up.
Whiskers had an idea. " - Let's make peanut butter toast! It's simple and tasty!" Marc brightened up. " - I can do that!" he said, grabbing the bread and peanut butter. They carefully spread peanut butter on the toast, making sure not to spill. Marc laughed, feeling more confident now.
With newfound confidence, Marc and Whiskers finally prepared a lovely breakfast. They set the table with peanut butter toast, fresh fruit, and juice. " - It's beautiful!" Marc exclaimed with joy. As his mom walked in, her eyes widened with surprise and delight. " - You did all this for me?" she asked, hugging Marc tightly.
