Leo and the Big Shadow
A young boy named Leo learns to face his fear of a big, scary shadow in his room, discovering that courage can turn fear into laughter.
Leo was a brave little boy, but every night, a big shadow appeared in his room. The shadow seemed to growl and loom over his bed. He called it the Big Shadow Monster. Leo wanted to be brave, but he was very scared. He hid under his covers, whispering, "Go away, Big Shadow Monster."
Every night, the Big Shadow Monster seemed to get bigger and scarier. Leo tried closing his eyes tight, but the shadow was still there. He even tried sleeping with one eye open, but it made him too tired. " - Why won't the Big Shadow Monster leave me alone?" Leo wondered.
Leo decided to try talking to the shadow, hoping it would go away. " - Please, Big Shadow Monster, don't scare me tonight," he whispered. But the shadow stayed, and Leo felt even more scared. He thought, "What if it never goes away?" Leo felt like giving up.
One night, Leo's dad came in to say goodnight. " - Why are you hiding, Leo?" his dad asked. Leo told him about the Big Shadow Monster. Dad said, " - Sometimes our fears play tricks on us. Let's see what it really is." Leo felt a little braver with his dad there.
With his heart pounding, Leo turned on his flashlight. Together, they shone it on the shadow. " - Look, Leo," his dad said, "it's just your toys!" Leo laughed and felt so relieved. The Big Shadow Monster wasn't a monster at all!
From that day on, Leo wasn't afraid of the Big Shadow Monster. He knew it was just his toys. " - I'm brave!" Leo said proudly each night. The shadow became a funny friend, not a scary monster. Leo learned that courage could make fear disappear.
