Lily, a young turtle, finds a shiny seashell while playing on the beach with her friends. She decides to keep it, even though she knows it belongs to her friend, Sammy the seagull. - Why do you look so sad, Lily? asked her friend, Benny the crab. - I have something to tell you, Lily said, but then she hesitated. She thought about how much Sammy loved his shell. Lily felt so confused and didn't know what to do.
Just then, Grandma Turtle came by. - What's bothering you, Lily? she asked kindly. Lily took a deep breath and told her everything. - It's always best to be honest, Grandma Turtle said. - Your friend will understand if you tell the truth. Lily felt a bit better hearing this.
Lily found Sammy and took the shiny seashell from under her shell. - Sammy, I have your shell, she said nervously. - I'm so sorry I took it. Sammy looked at her and then smiled. - Thank you for telling the truth, Lily. Friends should always be honest with each other. Lily felt much happier and hugged Sammy.
