Lizzy the Brown Anole lived in a cozy bush at the edge of the forest. One day, a big storm came and blew everything away. Lizzy’s home was gone! She felt scared and didn't know where to go. Lizzy needed to find a new home that was just right for her.
Lizzy walked through the forest, feeling lost. She saw Parker the Grass Anole running in the tall grass. Lizzy asked Parker if she could live there. Parker said, 'I run fast in the grass, but your short legs might make it hard for you.' Lizzy tried, but she kept tripping.
Lizzy felt sad she couldn’t stay in the grass. She climbed a tree and met Stella the Tree Anole. Lizzy asked, 'Can I live up here?' Stella smiled and said, 'I grip branches well with my special toe pads, but it might be hard for you.' Lizzy tried to hold on, but she slipped.
Lizzy sat on the ground, feeling like she would never find a home. She remembered Professor Saur, the wise Green Anole. 'Maybe he can help me,' Lizzy thought. Lizzy found Professor Saur by a river and told him everything. 'I can’t find a home where I fit,' Lizzy said, feeling hopeless.
Professor Saur smiled and said, 'Don’t worry, Lizzy. Each anole has a special place where they belong. Let’s find yours.' Professor Saur led Lizzy to a dense, bushy area near the forest’s edge. 'Try here,' he said. Lizzy explored and felt happy. 'This place is perfect for me!' she exclaimed.
Lizzy loved her new home. She thanked Professor Saur with a big smile. 'You’re welcome, Lizzy,' he said. 'Every anole has a special niche where they belong.' Parker and Stella visited Lizzy often. Lizzy now knew that everyone has a special place where they can be happy.
