In the beautiful Cebu, Dave finds himself in a world where kindness is fading. The townspeople are becoming less patient and more self-centered. They feel very detached from reality and they hate any kind of relationship.
Dave feels the weight of this change in his heart. He knows that without kindness, everyone will suffer. He starts walking around the city and in every corner he notices how selfish everyone is. He starts to wonder "Where has the love gone?,Why everyone acts this way?" "I need to find a solution".
Determined to help, Dave decides to speak to the elders, but they are too caught up in their disputes to listen. "Even the elder are not feeling the power of love anymore..." Dave says to himself.
He then tries to gather the children to talk about love, but they are too distracted...using their phones...
Dave starts thinking about his own heart and how he's facing his own struggle with gentleness...
Despite his struggles, Dave's heart remains gentle, but he grows weary. " "Maybe they're right," he murmurs... "Love is fading away and selfishness will remain".
Feeling defeated, Dave considers giving up his quest for kindness. The weight of failure is heavy on his shoulders.
In a moment of despair, he thinks about his youngest self and remembers the Corinthians 13:4-8 "Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not arrogant, is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not irritable, and does not keep a record of wrongs. Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end.
Inspired by these words, Dave decides to start small. He begins by helping his neighbors with simple acts of kindness. One after another. Dave showers everyone with Love that everyone feels overwhelmed by it in the best way possible.
