Manners Matter

Tolerance Pixar style

Rickie, a young foster child, struggles with understanding the importance of manners. After a difficult experience with his first adoptive family, Rickie learns valuable lessons about tolerance and kindness with his second family.

Rickie was a little boy who lived in a busy city. He was a foster child longing for a forever family. One day, a nice couple with a big house chose him. Rickie was excited, but he had a little problem. He didn't know how to say please or thank you. This worried him a lot.

At his new home, Rickie met his new brother. His brother liked to share toys. " - Can you say thanks?" his brother asked. Rickie just stared, unsure what to say. He felt a big wall between him and his new family.

Rickie tried hard to learn manners, but it was tough. At dinner, he forgot to say please. " - Can you pass the salt?" Rickie asked without a please. His new parents frowned. Rickie felt sad and scared. " - Why is it so hard?" he wondered.

Rickie felt like giving up. He missed his old life where he didn't have to worry about manners. " - Maybe I'm not meant to have a family," he thought. He sat in his room feeling lonely. But deep inside, he wanted to try again.

One day, a kind uncle visited. He saw Rickie struggling. " - Let me show you an easy way," he said. The uncle taught Rickie a fun game to remember manners. Suddenly, it wasn't so hard anymore!

Rickie practiced every day. He surprised his family with his new manners. " - Please pass the bread," he said with a smile. Everyone cheered! Rickie finally felt like part of the family.
