Courage Pixar style

Join Maya, a brave little girl, as she embarks on an adventure to solve the mystery of a growling sound atop the Mysterious Mountain. With her courage put to the test, Maya faces obstacles and learns the true meaning of bravery.

One cloudy day, Maya decided she wanted to explore the mysterious mountain with her Avni Masi. Meera, Maya’s twin sister, stayed behind, curled up with a book. The mountain was wild and whispery, its trees swaying like they were telling secrets to the wind. The path twisted and turned, sometimes so narrow Maya had to squeeze through like a mouse in a tunnel. But she was not afraid. Not even a little.

They started up the mountain path. But then, the path was blocked by a big tree branch. Maya tried to push it, but it was too heavy. Oh no, Maya said. How will we get past? We need to work together, Avni Masi suggested. But then, it started to rain. The path became slippery and hard to walk on. Maya felt a bit scared. It's too slippery! Maya cried. Hold my hand, Avni Masi reassured. We'll be okay.

Suddenly they heard a deep, growling sound. Low and rumbling, like thunder trapped inside a cave. Maya froze. Avni Masi grabbed her hand. “Maya,” she whispered. “Stay very still.” Maya peeked past the trees, and there, standing as grand as a king on a rocky ledge, was a massive mountain lion. Its golden eyes gleamed like the sun melting into the horizon. Its tail flicked. Its whiskers twitched.

But Maya, took a step forward. The lion growled again, but this time it sounded different—like it was… hurt. Maya’s sharp little eyes noticed something at once. The lion’s paw was caught in a nasty, twisted root. He couldn’t move. He was stuck! Maya turned to Avni Masi, “He’s trapped,” she said. “We have to help.” “Maya, he’s a wild animal. It’s too dangerous,” Avni Masi warned.

But Maya was already reaching into her backpack. She took out her soft scarf. The lion watched her. “Shhh,” Maya whispered. “I’ll help you.” Maya wrapped the scarf around the root and pulled hard. The root loosened and the lion's paw slipped out. Maya’s heart was pounding. Would he be angry? Would he roar? But the lion purred. He gently bumped his big head against Maya’s tiny shoulder. It was his way of saying thank you. Maya beamed. “You’re welcome, Mr. Lion.”

Avni Masi let out a breath she had clearly been holding for a very long time. “Maya,” she said, shaking her head but smiling. “You are the bravest little girl I know.” Hand in hand, they made their way down the mountain, the trees still whispering their secrets.
