Mia's First Day of School
Mia is both excited and nervous about her first day of school. She faces the challenge of making new friends but learns to overcome her fears with courage and determination.
Mia was excited but nervous. Today was her first day of school! She packed her new bag with pencils, notebooks, and her favorite lunchbox. "Mia, you’ll have so much fun," said her mom as they walked to the school gate. Mia wasn’t sure. What if she didn’t make any friends?
Once inside the classroom, Mia noticed everyone was talking to each other. She wanted to join in but felt too shy. "What if they don’t like me?" Mia wondered. Miss Clara, the teacher, clapped her hands and asked everyone to sit in a circle. Mia hesitated, unsure where to sit. She felt like she was invisible.
The teacher suggested playing a name game, but Mia was too shy to speak up. "Why am I so scared?" she thought. When it was her turn, she whispered her name. Some kids didn’t hear her and asked her to repeat it. Mia felt like her voice was a tiny mouse. Her cheeks turned pink, and she wished she could hide.
At recess, Mia sat alone on a bench, watching other kids play. She felt lonely and thought about going home. "I don’t belong here," she sighed. Just then, Asha, the girl she sat next to earlier, came over. "Want to play on the swings?" Asha asked. Mia hesitated, unsure if she should join.
Mia decided to be brave and joined Asha on the swings. "This is fun!" Asha giggled. Mia started to smile and even laughed a little. They played tag and raced each other. "I’m really glad you asked me to play," Mia said. She felt her courage growing with each step.
After recess, Mia felt more confident. In the art class, she and Asha sat together, painting colorful pictures. "Your rainbow is amazing!" Asha said. Mia beamed with pride. When the school day ended, Mia realized she wasn't nervous anymore. "See you tomorrow!" Asha waved as they said goodbye.
