Mikiel was a playful boy who loved laugh and be silly. But sometimes, he couldn't hear his friends and would get tired quickly. His doctor told him he needed surgery to help his ears and nose. Mikiel was worried about going to the hospital. - Why do I need surgery, Mum?" Mikiel asked. - It will help you hear birds and breathe better," Mum replied.
The day of the surgery came, and Mikiel felt nervous. The hospital looked big and a little scary. " "Will it hurt, Dad?" Mikiel whispered. "The doctors will make sure you're comfortable," Dad assured him. Mikiel had to wear a funny gown that made him giggle a bit. But he still felt a little scared.
In the special room, Mikiel met a kind doctor who smiled warmly. He gave him a mask to wear, which made Mikiel feel funny. "What if I can't be brave, Mum?" Mikiel asked. "You're already brave for being here," Mum reassured him. Mikiel took big breaths, just like the nurse said, but he still felt nervous. Mikiel felt very sleepy so he slept.
When he woke up, he was in a new room. His mother and father were next to his bed. "Where am I?" Mikiel asked, feeling confused. "You're in the recovery room, qalbi," Mama' said, holding his hand. Mikiel felt scared. His nose and ears hurt. He wanted to go home. "We will sleep here tonight, to make sure your ears and nose do not hurt too much" said mama'.
The next morning, a gentle doctor came to see Mikiel. " - You did so well, Mikiel," the doctor said with a smile. Mikiel realized he felt better, and the doctor explained how the surgery would help him. " - I am brave, aren't I, Dad?" Mikiel asked. " - The bravest," Dad replied, hugging him tightly.
Finally, it was time to go home. Mikiel was excited to play and hear all the sounds he had missed. " - Can we play outside, Mum?" Mikiel asked happily.
