Mohamad's Journey

Mohamad was excited and a little scared. Today was his first day going to school all by himself. He wanted to be brave like his older brother. But there was a big road to cross, and he worried about it. - I can do this, Mohamad told himself. He took a deep breath and stepped outside.
As Mohamad walked, he saw the busy road ahead. Cars zoomed by, making loud noises. He felt his heart pound faster. - How am I going to cross? he thought. He looked around for a crossing guard. But there was none in sight.
Mohamad tried to cross, but the cars seemed endless. He took a step back, feeling frustrated. - I can't do this, Mohamad whispered. Then, a dog barked nearby, startling him. He stepped back quickly and almost tripped.
Feeling defeated, Mohamad sat on a bench. - Maybe I should go back home, he thought. Tears welled up in his eyes. He thought of his classmates at school and how much he wanted to join them. - I have to find a way, he said softly.
Just then, a kind neighbor, Mrs. Patel, approached him. - Are you alright, Mohamad? she asked. Mohamad explained his problem. Mrs. Patel smiled, - I'll help you cross the road. Together, they waited for the light to change.
With Mrs. Patel's help, Mohamad crossed the road safely. - Thank you so much! he said, feeling relieved. He waved goodbye and continued on his journey. At school, he felt proud of his courage. - I did it! Mohamad cheered.
