It was a bright summer day in the City of Saint John, New Brunswick. Morgan, a 17-year-old girl with short dirty blonde hair and dark red glasses, was excited to spend the day with her little sister Makenzie. Makenzie, with her long straight dirty blonde hair and curtain bangs, was equally thrilled. But their excitement was short-lived when they discovered a mysterious note on their doorstep. The note claimed that a hidden treasure was somewhere in the city, but it was encrypted with a complex riddle.

- What do you think it means? Makenzie asked, her eyes wide with curiosity. - I'm not sure, but we need to solve this riddle, Morgan replied, determined. They both knew that finding the treasure could change their summer forever. But the riddle was complicated, and they had no idea where to start. They decided to visit the local library to look for clues.

At the library, the sisters searched through endless books and maps. They found a reference to an old legend about a hidden treasure in Saint John. - This has to be it! Makenzie exclaimed. But just as they thought they were making progress, the librarian told them that the book they needed was missing. - What now? Morgan wondered, feeling a bit disheartened.

Their first obstacle was finding the missing book. They asked everyone in the library if they had seen it, but no one had. - Maybe someone took it home, Morgan suggested. - We should check the lost and found, Makenzie added. They headed to the lost and found section, hoping to get lucky.

Unfortunately, the book wasn't in the lost and found either. - This is hopeless, Makenzie sighed. - Don't give up, we'll find another way, Morgan encouraged her. They decided to ask the librarian if there were any other books on local legends. The librarian pointed them to a dusty old section of the library, filled with ancient texts.

As they searched through the ancient texts, they found a mention of a hidden location in King Square. - King Square! That's not far from here, Makenzie said excitedly. - Let's go, Morgan agreed. But when they reached King Square, they found it crowded with tourists. Finding the exact location would be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

They decided to split up and look for clues in different parts of the square. - I'll check near the fountain, Makenzie suggested. - And I'll look by the statue, Morgan replied. They both searched diligently, but after an hour, they had found nothing. - This is harder than I thought, Makenzie admitted.

Makenzie sat down on a bench, feeling defeated. - Maybe the treasure isn't real, she said. - Don't say that, we just need to think harder, Morgan replied. Just then, they overheard a tour guide talking about the history of King Square. They listened closely, hoping to catch a clue.

The tour guide mentioned an old, hidden path that used to run through the square. - That must be it! Morgan whispered. - Let's follow the path, Makenzie agreed. They traced the path through the square, looking for any signs that might lead them to the treasure.

But the path led them to a dead end. - This can't be right, Morgan said, feeling frustrated. - Maybe we missed something, Makenzie suggested. They retraced their steps, looking for any small detail they might have overlooked. - Look, there's a hidden door! Makenzie pointed out excitedly.

They tried to open the door, but it was locked. - We need a key, Morgan realized. - But where can we find it? Makenzie asked. They felt like giving up, but then Morgan remembered something the tour guide had said about a key hidden in plain sight. - Let's search the square again, Morgan suggested.

After searching for what felt like hours, they still hadn't found the key. - This is impossible, Makenzie said, tears in her eyes. - We can't give up now, Morgan insisted, but even she was starting to lose hope. They sat down on a bench, exhausted and disheartened.

Just then, an old man approached them. - You two look like you could use some help, he said kindly. - We need to find a key to open a hidden door, Morgan explained. The old man smiled and handed them an old, rusty key. - Try this, he said. - Thank you! Makenzie exclaimed, her hope renewed.

With the key in hand, they rushed back to the hidden door. - I hope it works, Makenzie said nervously. - It has to, Morgan replied. They inserted the key into the lock, and with a click, the door slowly creaked open. Inside, they found an old chest covered in dust.

They opened the chest to find it filled with old books and scrolls. - This isn't treasure, Makenzie said, disappointed. - Wait, look at this, Morgan said, picking up a scroll. It contained the wisdom of the city's founders, valuable knowledge that had been lost for generations. - This is even better than treasure, Morgan realized.

They took the scrolls to the local museum, where the curator was overjoyed. - These are priceless, thank you for finding them, he said. Morgan and Makenzie felt a sense of accomplishment and wisdom. - I guess wisdom is the real treasure, Makenzie said. - Indeed it is, Morgan agreed, smiling. Their summer adventure had taught them a valuable lesson they would never forget.
