Victor loved his mother very much. They lived in a snug apartment in Paris, France. Victor thought his mother was the strongest person in the world. One day, their apartment building started to shake! The walls trembled, and Victor felt scared.
- Mommy, what is happening? Victor asked. - I don't know, my dear. But I promise to keep you safe, she said. They needed to leave the building quickly. But the stairs were blocked with fallen debris.
Victor's mother tried to move the debris with one hand. But it was too heavy! - Mommy, can you do it? Victor asked. - I will try my best, she replied. She pushed and pushed, but the debris wouldn't budge.
Victor felt so sad. - Maybe we should give up, he said. He saw his mother's face, and she looked tired. - No, Victor. We are strong and we will find a way, she said. But she looked like she might cry.
Suddenly, Victor had an idea. - Mommy, use the window! he said. His mother looked at the window and smiled. - Yes, we can do that! she said. She opened the window and looked down.
Victor's mother wrapped him tightly in a blanket. She climbed out of the window carefully. - Hold on tight, Victor, she said. They climbed down safely and reached the ground. - We did it! Victor cheered.
