Nathan loved playing with sticks, pretending they were swords. One day, he saw real fencers on TV and decided, "I want to be the best fencer in the world!" But he had a big problem. Nathan was too young to join the fencing club in his town. " - What should I do?" Nathan asked his mom. " - Keep practicing, my dear," she replied.
Nathan practiced every day, but the club still said he was too young. " - I can do it!" Nathan insisted, but they didn't listen. He felt sad. " - Why won't they let me try?" he asked his dad. His dad hugged him and said, " - Sometimes you have to prove you're ready."
Nathan tried to join other sports, but he didn't like them as much as fencing. Each time, he felt more and more frustrated. " - Fencing is my dream," he said to his friend, Emma. " - Don't give up," Emma encouraged. " - You just need to find a way to show them you're serious."
One day, Nathan felt like giving up. " - Maybe I'm not meant to be a fencer," he sighed. But then, he remembered all the times he practiced. " - I can't stop now," he thought. " - What if I never become a champion?" he worried aloud. But deep down, he knew he still wanted to try.
