Nayla loved her home in Brazil, filled with music and laughter. But she was scared of balloons. Every time a balloon popped, Nayla would cover her ears and hide. Her birthday was coming up, and she wanted balloons but was too afraid. Nayla whispered to her doll, " - I wish I wasn't scared of balloons."
On the day of her birthday, Nayla's mom filled the house with balloons. Nayla was excited but also very nervous. As she reached out to touch a balloon, it suddenly popped! Nayla jumped back, her heart racing. " - Oh no!" she cried. " - I can't do this!"
Nayla tried again, but each time a balloon popped, she felt scared. She wanted to have fun with her friends but couldn't stop worrying about the noise. Her friend Lucas tried to cheer her up. " - Don't worry, Nayla," he said. " - We can play with the balloons together." Nayla sighed, feeling unsure.
Feeling defeated, Nayla sat in her room, thinking about giving up on balloons forever. " - Maybe balloons are just too scary for me," she thought. Her mom came in and gave her a hug. " - It's okay to be scared," her mom said softly. " - But remember, you're braver than you think." Nayla didn't feel brave at all.
Lucas had an idea. " - Let's play a game with the balloons," he suggested. " - We can see how many we can keep in the air without popping them!" Nayla hesitated but agreed to try. They tossed the balloons gently, laughing when they stayed up. Nayla felt a little braver each time. " - This is fun!" she giggled.
As Nayla played, she forgot about her fear and enjoyed her party. She realized that balloons weren't so scary after all. " - I did it!" Nayla cheered. " - I really did it!" Her friends clapped and cheered for her courage. Nayla knew she could face anything with a little bravery.
