Never Truly Gone

Courage Watercolor style

I see you watching, eyes so clear, You notice how I’ve changed this year. My hands are slower, my strength feels thin, I’m not as strong as I’ve always been. I can’t run fast or lift you high, And some days, all I do is sigh. But through it all, one thing stays on— My love for you is Never Truly Gone. Though time may fade what I can do, I’ll always be here, holding you. No matter how the years move on, I’ll be with you—Never Truly Gone.

Morley loved exploring the woods with his mom. But one day, his mom said something that made him worry. She told him, 'One day, I might not be here with you, but remember, I'll never truly be gone.' Morley didn't understand. What did she mean? He felt scared and confused.

Morley decided to go on an adventure to find out what his mom meant. But as he walked deeper into the woods, he tripped over a root and fell. 'Ouch!' he cried as he picked himself up. His knee hurt, but he wanted to understand his mom's words. He kept going.

As Morley continued, he heard strange noises. 'Who's there?' he called out, feeling a bit scared. A gust of wind made the leaves rustle, and Morley hugged himself tight. He missed his mom's comforting hand. But he remembered her words and took a deep breath.

Morley felt like giving up. 'Maybe I should just go back,' he thought. He sat on a log and stared at the ground. Tears filled his eyes. 'I can't do this without Mom,' he whispered. He felt alone and unsure.

Suddenly, Morley remembered something his mom always said. 'Courage doesn't mean you don't feel scared; it means you keep going even when you are.' He stood up and wiped his tears. 'I can do this,' he told himself. He felt a warm breeze, almost like a hug from his mom.

With new courage, Morley continued his journey. He finally reached a clearing where the sunlight shone brightly. He felt a sense of peace. 'Mom's love is like this sunlight,' he thought. 'Even when I can't see her, she's always with me.' And with that, Morley knew he was never truly alone.
