Norah at Home
In Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, a sweet little girl named Norah faces a dilemma when she accidentally breaks her dad's favorite mug. With the help of her fluffy bear, she learns the importance of honesty and finds the courage to tell her dad the truth.
Norah was playing at home with her fluffy bear. She loved running around and laughing. One day, she was spinning in the kitchen and knocked over her dad's favorite mug. It shattered into pieces on the floor. Norah felt very sad. She wanted to tell her dad but was scared.
Norah picked up the pieces of the mug. Her dad would be home soon. - What should I do? Norah asked her bear. The bear didn't answer. Norah hid the pieces behind a pot, feeling worried.
Norah tried to play but couldn't stop thinking about the mug. - I'm scared, she whispered to her bear. Every noise made her jump. She didn't want to make her dad sad. Norah's heart felt heavy.
Norah sat quietly, not knowing what to do. - Maybe I should just pretend nothing happened, she thought. Her bear seemed to nod. But Norah's tummy felt funny. She didn't like keeping secrets from her dad.
Suddenly, Norah remembered a story her dad told her. It was about a brave knight who always told the truth. - I want to be brave like the knight, Norah said out loud. She felt a little stronger.
When her dad came home, Norah ran to him. - Daddy, I broke your mug, she said, holding the pieces. Her dad smiled and hugged her tight. - Thank you for telling me, he said. Norah felt happy and light.
