Norm the Homeless Snail
In the garden, Norm the snail is without a shell. Though initially mean and grumpy, the kindness of his fellow critters helps him find a shell and transforms his heart, teaching him the value of friendship and wisdom.
Norm the snail lived in a colorful garden, but he had no shell. He was often grumpy because he felt different and unprotected. " - Why am I the only snail without a shell?" Norm asked angrily. The other critters in the garden were kind but stayed away because of his mean attitude. Norm felt lonely and wanted a shell more than anything.
Norm decided to find a shell on his own. He slithered up to a big, shiny acorn. " - This will be perfect!" Norm exclaimed. But the acorn was too heavy for him to carry. Norm strained and pushed, but it wouldn't budge. He felt frustrated and sat down, feeling defeated.
The next day, Norm found a pretty seashell. " - Maybe this will work," he thought. But as he tried to squeeze inside, it cracked and shattered. Norm's heart sank as he realized it was too fragile for him. He felt even more hopeless and grumbled at a passing ladybug.
Feeling hopeless, Norm decided to give up. " - I'll never find a shell," he sighed sadly. " - Maybe I don't deserve one," he thought to himself. He curled up on a leaf, trying to hide from the world. Norm felt small and alone, as if he would never be happy.
A wise old tortoise saw Norm and came over. " - Why so glum, little snail?" he asked gently. Norm explained his troubles, and the tortoise smiled. " - The best shell is the one you find with friends," he advised. Norm listened and decided to ask for help from the garden critters.
With the tortoise's advice, Norm asked the critters for help. Everyone searched and found a sturdy walnut shell. " - It's perfect!" Norm cheered, slipping inside happily. His heart softened as he thanked his new friends. Norm realized that kindness and friendship were the true treasures.
