O melhor lugar do mundo

Tolerance Pixar style

Pedrop, a 9-year-old boy, feels overshadowed by the attention given to his baby brother. Struggling with jealousy, he embarks on a journey to find the best place in the world where he'll be the center of attention. Along the way, he must overcome various obstacles while learning about tolerance and understanding.

Pedrop sat on his bed, watching his parents fuss over his baby brother, Leo. His heart felt heavy with jealousy. “Why does everyone love Leo so much?” he asked himself. Pedrop wished he could find a place where he was the most important. He decided to search for the best place in the world where he wouldn’t feel overlooked.

Determined, Pedrop began his search at the park. He thought, “Here, I’ll be the fastest on the slide!” But as he raced up the ladder, a line of kids formed behind him. Pedrop sighed, realizing he wasn't the only one who loved the slide. “Even here, I have to wait,” he muttered.

Next, Pedrop went to the library, thinking, “I’ll be the smartest here,” as he picked up a book. However, the librarian soon asked everyone to be quiet. “I can’t even talk here?” Pedrop whispered to himself, feeling frustrated. He left with a frown, books not being the answer.

Pedrop tried the soccer field, hoping to be the star player. “I’ll score the winning goal!” he told himself. But he tripped over the ball, and another kid scored instead. His heart sank. “This isn’t fair,” Pedrop thought as he sat on the sidelines, watching the game.

Feeling defeated, Pedrop sat under a tree and buried his face in his hands. “Maybe I’ll never find the best place for me,” he said aloud. “What’s wrong, Pedrop?” asked an old man sitting nearby. “I just want to be special somewhere,” Pedrop replied, his voice trembling.

The old man smiled kindly. “You know, Pedrop, sometimes the best place isn’t a place at all.” Pedrop looked up, confused. “What do you mean?” he asked. “It’s the people who make a place special,” the old man explained. “Think about who you love and who loves you.”

Pedrop thought about his family. Even though Leo got attention, Pedrop remembered the times his parents read him stories and helped with homework. “Maybe home is special because of them,” he realized. “I can try being more patient with Leo,” Pedrop decided.

Pedrop returned home, greeted by his mom’s warm hug. “I missed you,” she said, smiling. Pedrop felt a familiar warmth spread through him. “I missed you too,” he replied. As he looked at Leo, he felt less jealous and more understanding.

Pedrop started spending time with Leo, helping his parents and making funny faces to make him laugh. “Leo’s pretty fun,” Pedrop admitted, as Leo giggled. His parents noticed the change and praised Pedrop for being a great brother. He felt proud and happy.

Finally, Pedrop realized he didn’t need to be somewhere else to feel special. “Home is the best place in the world,” he declared with a grin. His parents and Leo smiled back at him, their love shining bright. Pedrop knew he had found his special place, right where he belonged.
