Oh MADDIE!!
Maddie is always causing trouble and blaming her brother, Andrew. She locks him in the dryer, eats the last cookie, and lets the dog out, making Andrew look bad. But when Maddie gets into a big mess herself, she learns a valuable lesson about honesty.
Maddie, a 10-year-old girl with long brown hair, loved to make mischief. She often blamed her innocent brother, Andrew, for her messes. One day, Maddie let the family dog, Max, out of the house, and he ran away.
Andrew desperately tried to catch Max, but the dog was too fast. Maddie laughed and shrugged, 'Oops, sorry!'. But Andrew got scolded by their parents for not being responsible.
The next day, Maddie ate the last cookie from the jar before dinner. When their mom asked who did it, Maddie blamed Andrew. 'It wasn't me!' Andrew protested, but their mom didn't believe him.
Andrew felt sad and frustrated. He was always getting into trouble because of Maddie. 'Why are you always blaming me?' he asked her. Maddie just giggled and ran off.
One afternoon, Maddie had a big idea. She decided to lock Andrew in the dryer as a prank. 'This will be so funny!' she thought. But when she tried to open the dryer door, it was stuck.
Maddie panicked. 'What if Andrew gets hurt?' she thought. She tried pulling the door harder, but it wouldn't budge. She knew she had to get help, but she was scared of getting in trouble.
Maddie ran to find her mom. 'Mom, I need help! Andrew is stuck in the dryer!' she confessed. Her mom rushed to the laundry room and managed to open the door, freeing Andrew.
Andrew was shaken but unharmed. 'Why did you do that, Maddie?' he asked. Maddie looked down and said, 'I thought it would be funny, but it wasn't.' Their mom looked sternly at Maddie.
'Maddie, you need to understand that your actions have consequences,' their mom said. Maddie nodded, feeling guilty. She realized how much trouble she had caused for Andrew.
For the next few days, Maddie tried to be on her best behavior. But one day, she accidentally spilled paint all over the living room floor. She felt the urge to blame Andrew again.
'It wasn't me, it was...,' Maddie started to say, but then she stopped. She looked at the mess and took a deep breath. 'It was me,' she admitted.
Her mom looked surprised but relieved. 'Thank you for telling the truth, Maddie,' she said. Maddie felt a weight lift off her shoulders. It felt good to be honest.
'I'm sorry for all the trouble I've caused, Andrew,' Maddie said. Andrew smiled and replied, 'I forgive you, Maddie. Just please, no more pranks.' Maddie nodded sincerely.
From that day on, Maddie worked hard to be honest and responsible. She helped Andrew with his chores and even made him a special batch of cookies to make up for the ones she ate.
One evening, their parents praised Maddie for her honesty and good behavior. 'We're proud of you, Maddie,' her dad said. Maddie felt proud of herself too.
